The Kentucky Derby

I watched the Kentucky Derby this weekend. I just don't get it. I mean, NBC had like 5 or 6 hours of television coverage. Seriously? In my opinion, The Kentucky Derby is the most
over-rated, over-hyped sporting event in the world. Honestly, if it only lasts 2 minutes, it's neither sport, nor event.

And what is up with the names of these horses? Mine that Bird and Desert Party and Pioneerof the Nile are not good names for horses. A good name for a horse is Blackie or Patches. Lucky and Princess are pretty good options as well.

I agree 100%. Five hours of coverage for two minutes of horses running in a circle. Does anybody else think that we could better spend our time and energy? Just a thought.
